Seminar: Conditions for placing upgraded and new rolling stock in service. 2nd Edition

Dear TRAKO Exhibitors and Visitors,

It is a twelve-year tradition that a seminar organised by the SIRTS Association for Rail Transport Interoperability and Development and by the MTG SA Gdańsk International Fair Co. is held on the day before TRAKO. You are sincerely welcome to take part in the second edition of the seminar on the Conditions for placing upgraded and new rolling stock in service, which will be held on 25 September 2017 at the AMBEREXPO Exhibition & Convention Centre, Gdańsk.

Following the formal and legal changes which took place before the previous TRAKO, as presented to you two years ago, it is now time to sum up the experience we have gathered and discuss further changes. It needs to be noted that, although both the Railway Interoperability Regulation and two TSIs with railway rolling stock requirements have changed, these changes need to be considered as an important clarification rather than a revolution with regard to new rolling stock compliant with European requirements. In terms of new rolling stock which is not compliant with European requirements and upgraded rolling stock, we are dealing with very significant formal and legal changes. There is a completely new list of national requirements and guidelines of the UTK Office of Rail Transport. Users of railway rolling stock and upgrade contractors face new and demanding challenges. There is a real risk of a seriously reduced scale of upgrades in the existing railway rolling stock or even of not being able to operate the upgraded rolling stock at all. This is why we have invited you to a seminar which will provide a comprehensive and structured discussion of the current conditions for placing upgraded and new rolling stock in service.
